[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=”a-content-body”]The client intends to create a compact, modern nurse training campus. The area will be a training ground for specialist nursing staff in church-maintained hospitals aimed at reducing the critical shortage of nurses.<\/p>\n

The central element of the project is the T\u00e1rogat\u00f3 \u00fat building, built between 1912 and 1932, which was originally the nursing institute of the Congregation of the Daughters of St. Francis of Assisi. After its deprivatisation in 1950, it operated as a party school until 1956. Then is had a variety of hospital and specialist functions until his closure in 2007. The Diocese of Szeged-Csan\u00e1d, as the current owner and operator, intends to restore the original function of the building on the basis of the historical churches in accordance with the requirements of the age, supplemented by a dormitory, a nurse’s house (“swallow house”) and an administration building. The ancient wooded park on the plot is also being renovated and is open to everyone. Out of the design task for the complex permit level of the \u201ccampus\u201d, the MCXVI Architect\u2019s studio was commissioned for the nursing home, while the other buildings were designed by V\u00e1ncza M\u0171vek.<\/p>\n

Buildings with different functions can be strung on a \u201cdramaturgical\u201d line of thoughts. School, dormitory, nursing home. The latter still belongs to the institution, but is rather the first scene of independent adult life. It is considered an adequate placement in the neighborhood condominium context. The scale of the surrounding buildings was also a consideration in composing the building mass of the nursing home. Therefore, we divided it into 3 parts F \/ A, F \/ B and F \/ C blocks and partly because we chose the side-flow system, as this results slimmer tracts.<\/p>\n

The floor area of the 66 apartments is the size of a studio. The graduated nurses know each other, so it can be assumed that they will live an intense community life, but we would like to promote this by designing the building as well. The side corridors not only act as passageways, but also as terraces, which also serve as meeting and conversation points and rest areas. Here you will find planting screens, outdoor armchairs and tables. Multi-layer glued larch wood paneling enhances the feeling of homeliness as part of the screens.<\/p>\n

The plot has very valuable vegetation. We want to preserve this as much as possible and make it a central attraction of the project. Walking here, it feels the place lived better times as well. In its present state, it is rather neglected. The intention of landscape architecture is to make the park evoke the pre-war atmosphere as much as possible. Existing and planned buildings enclose the garden on three sides. The F \/ C array of the nursing home is also part of this space wall. The entire property has a connection to Sz\u00e9her Street as well, \u00a0with an own entrance.<\/p>\n

The descent of the F \/ A and F \/ B blocks follows the slope of the terrain, and the F \/ C block sits on the \u201cplateau\u201d of the slope of the existing terrain. Thus, the installation of the houses involves minimal landscaping.<\/p>\n

We design a brick cladding for the fa\u00e7ade, which represents timelessness, both in terms of architectural appearance and physical durability. It can also be attached to a didactic line. The school is plastered and paved, the dormitory and event wings are cleanly plastered, the existing administration building is plastered with brick accessories, and the nursing home is predominantly brick.<\/p>\n

It should be emphasized that the nurse’s hostel was located in the area of the entire plot, which separates from the \u201ccampus\u201d area, although it forms an operational unit with it, but still belongs to the condominium environment of Sz\u00e9her Street. In its genre, it is essentially a condominium itself. In this respect, the question of the scale of mass training was a fundamental starting point in architectural conceptualization.
